Being well Naturally
Hopi Ear Candling, Ear Coning or Thermo-Auricular Therapy
No matter the name this is a therapy that is the professional use of Hopi Ear Candles, used to aid relaxation, relief of human, ear, nose and throat conditions and associated problems. These include sinusitis, headaches and migraine, tinnitus, excessive wax, catarrh, glue ear and mild hearing loss.
Treatment process in brief
An ear candle is placed into a silver disk and then gently placed into the outer edge of one ear canal at a time. The silver disk provides some protection from the burning candle. The candle is allowed to burn to the safety line margin then the candle is removed and extinguished in a bowl of water.
How the candle work
The candle work very gently on a chimney principle. The pleasant warm smoke gently vibrates and the warms air generated gives a very pleasant massage effect to the ear drum. This in turn helps to equalise the ear and sinuses and helps in softening ear wax, which than can be dispersed naturally.
What the candles are made of
The candles are made from the natural ingredients of beeswax, honey extracts, sage, St Johns Wort, chamomile, beta carotene and organically grown flax.
A little historical background
This ancient and natural therapy has been passed down by many civilisations and we are told that many ancient cultures including the Romans, Greeks and Egyptians used this form or some form of ear candling in their health care practices.
