Navigating Domestic Abuse & Violence, a foundational course

The Foundations of Domestic Violence explores how abuse is rooted in power and control, drawing on the Power and Control Wheel to explain perpetrator behaviour. The course examines how childhood exposure, generational patterns, emotional insecurity, and life stressors—such as pregnancy, illness, or financial strain—can escalate abuse. Learners gain skills to recognise warning signs including coercive control, isolation, gaslighting, and financial restriction, across relationships and institutions. With a global perspective informed by WHO data, the course covers types of abuse, impacts on adults and children, intervention strategies, and recovery tools. Designed for professionals and individuals seeking understanding, it includes interactive materials, wellbeing support, and certification.
