Aromatherapy level 0 & 1

This course provides the basics of Aromatherapy.  It is a pre-requisite to the Professional Aromatherapy Qualification.  

Learning outcomes:

  1. You will learn what aromatherapy is and what essential oils are.

  2. You will learn how the name "aromatherapy" came about.

  3. You will learn safety matters around essential oils 

  4. You will learn about one carrier oil and some essential oils

  5. You will learn how to blend and mix to create a simple massage blend

  6. You will learn how to provide simple aromatic massage using your blend of essential oils.

  7. You will test your learning with some easy quizzes along the way

  8. You will be ready to take the next steps in learning Aromatherapy.

  9. -ESSENTIAL-TO-NOTE-

    In order to practice as an Aromatherapist Massage therapist you will be required to have completed our introductory massage and professional body massage courses (the professional massage diploma is essential to Aromatherapy as this covers specific subjects such as consultation and contra-indications)

  21. Demonstrations; making personal products, balms, Shea butter whip, orange carrots and hand massage blend...

Aromatherapy level 2

Level 2 Aromatherapy course builds upon the earlier learning and subjects covered in this course:

  • Professional standards for therapists

  • Reception and consultation

  • Anatomy and physiology

  • A brief History of Aromatherapy

  • What is Aromatherapy?

  • What is essential oils?

  • Where essential oils come from.

  • How essential oils enter the body

  • Carrier oils and how we use them with essential oils.

  • Methods of collection essential oils.

  • Purchasing essential oils

  • Blending, mixing and dilution that have some demonstration videos with them

  • Health, safety and storage of essential oils

  • A brief look at plant families

  • A to Z of essential oils (therapeutic properties, uses and applications)

  • Self application of essential oil massage blends - demonstrations

  • Recipe of delight - creating signature massage blends for personal use.​

Aromatherapy level 3

After completing the level 1 & 2 courses students can progress onto our Professional Qualified Aromatherapists courses.  The covers:

Role and responsibility of the Aromatherapist

Continued professional development and professional development

Anatomy, physiology and pathology continued

The use of holistic therapy and essential oils in care of palliative patients

Treatment area, equipment and consultation

Carrier mediums; butters, gels, aromatic waters and waxes

A- Z of essential oils (new essential oil profiles to add to previous profiles)

Essential oils and The Chakras

The chemistry of Essential oils

Making personal products; learn how to make a simple infused oil for use in making balms, learn how to use simple seeds to make natural gels etc

After-care and record keeping

Should you want to go to the professional level then the following are requisites that must be fulfilled:

Case study; 20 complete case studies are required - 20 people receive 6 full aromatherapy massage treatment which includes the consultation process.

Final exam and assignments assess the students learning.
